May His Memory be for a Blessing

Ezra's story is unique. Teen suicide isn't.

In 2009, just a month shy of his 17th birthday, Ezra Weidenfeld took his own life, becoming one of the approximately 5,000 teens to die by suicide each year in the USA. His parents, Shanee Epstein and Moshe Weidenfeld, together with Walter Schlomann, have created a film and a series of programs to provide a resource for mental health education and to support other families dealing with grief and loss around suicide. May his memory be for a blessing.

Our film

Ezra(z”l) May His Memory Be For a Blessing is a no-holds-barred insight into teenage suicide and surviving its aftermath. This moving and impactful story is intended for mental health education and awareness, and the host of issues associated with teenage suicide, including the incomparable challenges facing those who are left behind.

Our programs

Putting the pieces back together after losing a child to teenage suicide is a life-long process that doesn’t have to be faced alone. Shanee Epstein, with input from many wonderful professionals, has created a series of programs designed to promote conversations that both highlight issues of mental health and help those who are grieving.
